Dubai International (DXB) passengers will soon have the ability to check their registration status at smart gates prior to arriving at the airport, Gulf News reports. This development comes after an agreement was signed between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai and Dubai Airports, aiming to elevate the services offered to travelers and cement Dubai Airports’ status as a global leader in premium services.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.
As part of this partnership, an online link will be made available on the Dubai Airports website, allowing passengers to verify their registration status at smart gates. This feature aims to inform and guide passengers about using the smart gates before reaching the passport hall, thereby streamlining and accelerating the traffic flow at the airport.
Additionally, the collaboration will enhance cooperation between the GDRFA and Dubai Airports by establishing an electronic link between security systems, which is expected to boost the efficiency and safety of airport security operations.
Lieutenant General Al Marri highlighted the benefits of the agreement, stating, “The agreement will significantly support GDRFA’s strategy designed to enhance cooperation with key partners and ensure the provision of integrated and effective services to passengers at Dubai Airports.” He emphasized GDRFA’s dedication to providing top-notch services through the adoption of the latest technologies and best international practices.
Paul Griffiths expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement, stating, “This agreement marks another significant step in our ongoing efforts to solidify Dubai’s position as a world-leading aviation hub. Our partnership with GDRFA is essential for providing a seamless and efficient journey for all travellers at our airports.”
