Authorities have announced that some government employees will be granted flexible working hours on the first day of the upcoming school year, allowing them to drop off and pick up their children.
According to a Khaleej Times report, this policy, effective for the 2024-2025 school year, extends to parents of nursery and kindergarten students for the entire first week of school.
Additionally, employees with children will be granted flexibility during special school events throughout the year, such as parent-teacher meetings and graduation ceremonies. However, the period of flexibility will not exceed three hours, as outlined by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. These hours can be used at once or split between morning and evening periods.
The policy is designed to provide necessary flexibility in the work environment while ensuring that workflow and service delivery remain unaffected. Employees must follow their entity’s regulations and obtain approval from their director to benefit from this scheme.
