Sharjah has officially declared the Eid Al Adha holiday for public sector employees, starting from June 15 and extending until June 18. This results in a five-day break for government employees in Sharjah, taking into account the Friday weekend.
Following Sharjah’s announcement, Dubai and Abu Dhabi have also revealed their Eid Al Adha holiday schedules for government employees. In both cities, the break will run from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18, with work resuming on Wednesday, June 19.
A holiday circular specified that certain authorities, departments, and institutions with employees working in shifts or providing public services will determine work schedules based on operational requirements to ensure continuous service during the holiday.
The Federal Authority of Human Resources had previously confirmed the holiday dates for the public sector from June 15 to June 18. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced that the private sector holidays would align with these dates.
Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam, falls on June 15, while the three-day Eid Al Adha holiday will be observed from June 16 to 18, creating a four-day holiday period.
