Sofronio Vasquez is set to embark on a new musical chapter with his The Voice USA coach and Grammy-winning crooner Michael Bublé producing his first extended play (EP).
The historic winner of The Voice USA Season 26 made the surprise announcement during a press event for his upcoming BRAVO! Manila concert, where he will share the stage with Jed Madela and Bituin Escalante.
“I’m excited to share that Michael Bublé is producing my EP,” Sofronio told entertainment reporters, confirming that the release is scheduled ahead of the holiday season.
Among the first songs to be released is a Christmas duet with Bublé, featuring both English and Tagalog lyrics. “It’s a duet Christmas song with me and him,” Sofronio said. “We’re doing an English-Tagalog song.”
Marking a personal milestone, the Filipino artist revealed that he co-wrote the Tagalog parts of the song. “First time, I wrote the Tagalog lyrics of it, with the help of the musicians [and] songwriters in Manila, nagpa-consult ako kasi hindi ako masyadong magaling,” he admitted.
Aside from Bublé, Sofronio hinted at collaborations with legendary producers David Foster and Paul Anka in the same EP. He added that Bublé is also writing an original song just for him. “Nag-record na kami ng five songs pero meron pang isang song na isusulat talaga ni Michael Bublé for me,” he said.
Sofronio shared his hope that Bublé would eventually join him on stage in the Philippines. “Excited na rin talaga siyang kumanta dito,” he shared, noting that the last time Bublé performed in the country was at the PICC. While inviting Bublé to his other concerts has proven difficult, the Canadian star promised him something special: “He said, ‘I want that when I come to your show, it has to be very particular and it has to be magical for the both of us.’”
Adding to his growing list of career milestones, Sofronio, the first Filipino and Asian male to win The Voice USA, is set to headline his first major solo concert in Dubai on September 6, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Exhibition Hall 2. Organized by Luxurist CBM House of Events, the show promises an unforgettable evening of powerhouse vocals and heartfelt performances, with a setlist that includes his hit originals like “Mahalaga” and “Shine,” as well as fan-favorite covers from the competition such as “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You” and “The Greatest Love of All.” Tickets are available via Platinumlist starting at AED 299, with premium tiers offering perks like early entry and exclusive merchandise.
To further engage fans, a “Sofronio Sound Alike” singing contest is also underway, inviting Filipino residents across the UAE to compete for a chance to perform live on stage during the concert finale on August 23.
