Filipino favorite sinigang has climbed to the 41st spot on TasteAtlas’ 100 Best Dishes in the World for 2024, receiving an impressive 4.5 out of 5 rating. The sour soup made a significant leap from its 97th position last year, further solidifying its place as a global culinary delight.
TasteAtlas described sinigang as “a unique soup that is a true representative of Filipino cuisine,” noting its refreshing compatibility with the tropical climate of the Philippines. Romulo Cafe, The Aristocrat, Manam, and Max’s were highlighted as some of the best places to savor the dish.
Colombia’s Lechona topped this year’s list with 4.78 stars, followed by Italy’s Pizza Napoletana, which earned a 4.75 rating. Sinigang was also previously recognized among the world’s best soups and top Filipino dishes.
TasteAtlas, an international platform celebrating local cuisines, compiled the rankings from over 367,947 user ratings worldwide.
