On Thailand’s Mother’s Day, a heartwarming act by a single dad at Ban Noen Kroi School captured the hearts of many.
Physical Education and Health Education teacher, Joe Lookphonbodee, dressed up as a woman to attend the school’s Mother’s Day event for his adopted daughter, Cream.
Lookphonbodee, 48, who is known as Mr. Pratya or Teacher Joe to his students, decided to don a dress and wig to ensure that his third-grade daughter wouldn’t feel out of place without a mother on the special day.
Speaking to Bangkok Biz News, he expressed, “I don’t want my child to have an inferiority complex on such occasions. I’m not ashamed because I love my child.”
Emphasizing that he sees Cream as his own blood, Lookphonbodee proudly shared the touching moment on TikTok, captioning it, “Mother, I can be for you hahaha.”
In the video, Cream, overwhelmed with emotion, hugs her dad, who was seen alongside other mothers as their children paid respects.
Cream beamed throughout the event, later noting that her father looked “beautiful and cute” in his attire.
Reflecting on the experience, Cream shared her gratitude: “This year’s Mother’s Day, I want to say I love my father. Thank you father for raising me and making me happy. This life doesn’t feel like it lacks anything.”
