Singer Frenchie Dy reveals third Bell’s Palsy episode

Filipino singer and actress Frenchie Dy has revealed that she is experiencing Bell’s Palsy for the third time. In an emotional video posted on her official Facebook page, the OPM singer shared her struggles with the condition, which causes sudden facial muscle weakness.

“I felt really discouraged, but I know many people are praying for me,” Frenchie said, holding back tears. “My husband, my children, my friends, and everyone who supports me—they’re all here, so I know I can do this.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, it is rare for Bell’s Palsy to occur more than once. Frenchie admitted that this latest episode has been more severe, as she noticed a worsening of her symptoms compared to the previous day. She is currently undergoing treatment, taking Vitamin B2, steroids, and other medications to manage the condition and prevent complications.

The singer also mentioned that she will be undergoing a series of medical tests, including MRI and EMG scans, to determine why her Bell’s Palsy keeps recurring. “It’s hard to get these tests done, and they’re expensive, but I have to push through,” she said.

Despite her condition, Frenchie reassured her fans that she will keep them updated throughout her recovery. Her followers flooded the comment section with support and prayers, sending messages of encouragement as she continues her journey to healing.
