A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok due to severe weather conditions, resulting in one fatality and injuries to 30 passengers, according to multiple Thai media reports on Tuesday.
The Boeing 777-300ER, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, encountered unexpected weather challenges, prompting the unscheduled landing at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Although an airport spokesperson could not immediately confirm the landing, they did acknowledge that a medical team was prepared to respond.
“We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board,” the airline stated on Facebook. “Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew on board the aircraft.”
The airline also mentioned its collaboration with local Thai authorities to ensure that necessary medical assistance is available. “We are working with the local authorities in Thailand to provide the necessary medical assistance,” the airline added.
