A Pakistani national has died after shrapnel from an intercepted ballistic missile landed in Abu Dhabi’s Bani Yas area, authorities confirmed, marking the latest fatality in a series of Iranian attacks on the UAE.
Emergency teams were dispatched to the site and the area was secured shortly after the incident. Officials said air defence systems successfully brought down the missile, but debris from the interception proved fatal.
The UAE’s overall death toll since the onset of Iranian aggression has reached eight — five civilians and two soldiers, with one additional casualty reflected in the latest update. The civilians killed hold Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities. The two military fatalities occurred while the personnel were carrying out their national duty.
Since the attacks began, UAE air defence units have intercepted 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Ministry of Defence said it remains in full operational readiness and will take firm action against any threat to the country’s sovereignty, stability, and national interests.
Authorities called on the public to consult only official channels for information and refrain from circulating unverified reports or rumours.
