Sharjah has recently unveiled a new mosque at the entrance to Al Dhaid, notable for its stunning glass dome. This architectural marvel, funded entirely by a philanthropist, stands out for its innovative use of materials and design.
Although still under construction, a significant part of the mosque is complete. The design features a contemporarily-styled minaret with a distinctive spiral shape, enhancing the structure’s towering presence. Adjacent to the minaret is the eye-catching spherical glass dome, under which worshippers will gather for prayers.
The interior of the mosque is spacious and well-lit, thanks to the geometric shapes of the glass sphere that cast mesmerizing reflections on the walls and floor. Adding to the grandeur is the prominent inscription of Ayat al-Kursi from the Quran at the entrance, welcoming all who enter.
This unique mosque has already captured the hearts and imaginations of many. Sharjah TV shared a video on their Instagram account that garnered awe and admiration from viewers. One commenter, @7sheemaa, expressed excitement at the prospect of praying in the mosque during rain, while another, Khalidnoor, called it “An architectural masterpiece, God bless.”
