Sharjah residents will see a new sewage management fee added to their Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) bills starting April 1, 2025. The fee, set at 1.5 fils per gallon of water consumption, will apply to non-Emirati consumers, while Emirati citizens are exempt.
According to a Gulf News report, the decision was approved by the Sharjah Executive Council during a recent meeting led by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The move aims to enhance the emirate’s sewage management services.
