Sharjah Safari, the largest safari outside of Africa, is gearing up to open its highly anticipated fourth season on September 23, offering visitors a thrilling adventure filled with new events and surprises. This season promises to captivate guests with over 300 new animals and birds, highlighting the success of the safari’s biodiversity preservation efforts.
Visitors will have the rare chance to witness young animals with their mothers, providing a closer connection to nature and the life cycle. “Seeing the excitement in visitors, especially children, as they interact with animals in natural habitats motivates us to enhance our programmes,” said Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah. Al Suwaidi emphasized that this initiative aligns with the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, to prioritize environmental care and wildlife conservation.
Spanning 8 square kilometers, Sharjah Safari features 12 unique environments inspired by Africa, including the Serengeti, Savannah, and Kalahari. The safari is home to over 50,000 animals from more than 120 species, housed within the Al Bardi Reserve in Al Dhaid.
Sharjah Safari offers various ticket packages to suit different visitor preferences. Bronze ticket holders can explore the “To Africa” and Zanzibar Village areas, while Silver and Gold ticket holders can enjoy extended tours through additional environments such as the Sahel and Ngorongoro. The Gold package also includes a personal guide and a walking safari in Serengeti. Prices range from Dh40 for adults on the Bronze package to Dh275 for the Gold experience, with family-friendly options for children.
To ensure visitor comfort, Sharjah Safari has completed extensive logistical improvements, preparing for another successful season. The safari is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., though opening hours may vary due to special events or weather conditions.
Dining options are available in Zanzibar Village and Safari Camp, offering a variety of food and drinks, while guests are encouraged to bring essentials such as hats, sunscreen, and cameras to make the most of their experience.
This season will also feature interactive animal shows and workshops aimed at promoting environmental awareness, making it a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and exploration for families.
