Sharjah Police have reported a substantial reduction in both traffic accidents and fatalities during the first half of 2024, according to a recent report from the Traffic and Patrols Department.
The data shows a 15% decrease in fatalities per 100,000 residents compared to the same period last year. Additionally, traffic accidents per 10,000 vehicles fell by 9%.
This positive trend is attributed to a series of intensive traffic safety campaigns conducted by the authorities. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Alay Al Naqbi, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, highlighted the importance of shared responsibility among drivers and road users in maintaining road safety.
He urged everyone to follow traffic regulations, observe speed limits, and stay focused while driving to ensure safer roads for all.
