The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) has announced a 50% discount on all municipal fines. This generous reduction is valid for the next 90 days and is applicable to all violations recorded before September 5.
The decision was taken during an SEC meeting held at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office. The meeting was presided over by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the SEC. He was accompanied by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Vice Chairmen of the SEC.
Further details on this discount are expected to be announced soon.
In addition to the fine discount, several other pivotal decisions were made during the meeting. Among them, the SEC discussed the advancement of government work, aiming to introduce more innovative services and new developmental projects for the emirate.
Significantly, the council also approved measures to aid homeowners in Sharjah affected by natural disasters. The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) will oversee the provision of this assistance. The specifics of the assistance, such as eligibility criteria, damage assessment protocols, and the determination of assistance amounts, have been outlined.
In another decision, the Dog Care Centre, under the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), will now be governed by the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC).
