Sharjah unveiled its latest initiative on Monday, introducing a new public parking subscription service aimed at enhancing convenience for residents and businesses alike. This service allows individuals to secure a personal subscription for one month, covering two zones of their choice within the city.
Expanding the array of parking options available, this development highlights the government’s dedication to streamlining services and improving urban mobility for its citizens.
Under this subscription, individuals or companies gain access to public parking spaces across Sharjah city based on their chosen specifications, with subscription fees varying according to the type selected.
An exceptional parking subscription category has also been introduced, catering specifically to UAE Citizens who are retired, elderly, living in paid parking zones, government employees in Sharjah city, students, social service beneficiaries, as well as holders of homeland protectors card or Waffer card.
To obtain an exceptional parking subscription, individuals need to provide certain documents, including Emirates ID, vehicle registration card, trade license for commercial subscriptions, and proof of discount eligibility for exceptional subscriptions. Applications for exceptional subscriptions are exclusively processed through designated service centers.
Last year, Sharjah announced free parking subscriptions for people of determination, simplifying the parking process and fostering a more inclusive environment in public spaces. This service allows individuals holding subscription cards to access free public parking, seamlessly linking it to the parking system virtually, thereby eliminating the need for physical card placement on vehicle windshields.
In an effort to enhance customer convenience, the entire process for obtaining subscriptions has been made available online, eliminating the need for physical visits to municipal offices.
