The Government of Sharjah has revealed new working hours for the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan. The Human Resources Authority in Sharjah confirmed the official timings for government departments, institutions, and bodies.
According to the Hijri calendar published by the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), Ramadan is expected to commence on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
During Ramadan, government sector employees will adhere to a schedule from 9am to 2.30pm. This timing applies to both fasting and non-fasting employees, allowing them to engage in spiritual and cultural activities throughout the sacred month.
This decision aims to accommodate employees’ participation in Ramadan rituals while ensuring the smooth functioning of governmental operations. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) had previously issued a circular outlining similar working hours for federal authority employees during Ramadan.
