Controversial director Darryl Yap has responded to a clip from an old episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ where Vice Ganda unintentionally mentioned his name.
During a segment in ExSpecially For You on ‘It’s Showtime,’ Vice Ganda complimented a contestant, saying the contestant’s smile resembled Darryl Yap’s when he was starting out. Vice Ganda then corrected himself, saying, “Darryl Yap ba yun? Ay Darryl Ong pala! Friend nila MC yun. Diba direktor niyo ng pelikula? Parang ayaw niyo aminin.”
Yap took to Facebook to share his reaction. He expressed his affection for MC and Lassy, who were mentioned in Vice Ganda’s comment, stating, “Mahal ko sina MC at Lassy, parehas magalang, mahusay at mabubuting tao- hindi ko naramdaman na gusto nilang itangging kaibigan nila ako on National TV. Hindi ko lang alam kung anong damo ang nakain ni Vice para gumanyan. Wag mo ko masyadong isipin, para di ka nahahalata…” He concluded his post with the hashtag #shametime.
The post received various reactions from netizens, including one who commented, “On national TV? Halatang bothered ka Vice, napaghahalataan ka na masyado… Anyway, napakabait nyan si MC at Lassy…”
