Shaira’s hit ‘Selos’ temporarily pulled from music platforms over copyright issues

AHS Productions has removed the song “Selos” by Shaira, also known as the “Queen of Bangsamoro Pop,” from all streaming platforms. The move was described as a “voluntary act” by the agency, following a copyright issue with the melody of the song, which originates from Lenka’s track “Trouble is a Friend.”

AHS Productions issued an official statement on their channel, extending their apologies to fans: “On behalf of our artist, Shaira, AHS Productions would like to convey our heartfelt apologies to all those who have enjoyed listening to the song ‘Selos’ as it is now unavailable in all online streaming platforms.”

The agency explained that the takedown is part of their efforts to legalize the cover: “We are still making arrangements with regards to the legality of the publication of the song. We have chosen to take it down from all platforms pending our agreement with the original artist’s management on securing a cover license for ‘Selos’.”

Shaira’s rendition of “Selos” had gained significant popularity, leading to her being dubbed the “Queen of Bangsamoro Pop.” The agency expressed gratitude for the support and unexpected success: “We are truly grateful to you for opening your hearts to a song that we once only made public for the sake of entertainment.”

AHS Productions is currently in talks with Lenka’s team to resolve the copyright issues and hopes to re-release “Selos” as an official cover. The agency seeks continued support from fans: “We hope that when time comes and we will be re-uploading the song, you will show her the same love and acceptance.”

The agency concluded the statement with a note of appreciation for the understanding of their audience: “Again, thank you very much and we are hoping for your understanding. Peace and good vibes to all!”
