On Monday evening, numerous residents of the UAE faced unexpected disruptions in mobile and internet services provided by Du. The service interruption began around 6 PM, with users reporting dropped calls and difficulties in establishing connections.
The issue was documented on the outage tracking website Downdetector, which indicated that the majority of people experienced problems with mobile internet connections, while others reported a complete lack of signal and landline service.
Dubai resident N Abdulla recounted in a Khaleej Times report her struggle to make phone calls for an hour due to the outage. Despite trying multiple phones, all connected to Du’s network, she was unable to determine the cause of the service failure at the time.
Similarly, Afsha Noori experienced communication barriers when attempts to contact her daughter proved unsuccessful, with the calls not going through.
The service disruption prompted a wave of complaints on social media, as customers expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of information and the service provider’s customer support response.
In response to the widespread connectivity issues, Du released a statement on their official Instagram account, assuring customers that the problem had been fully resolved. The company extended apologies for any inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude to their customers for their patience during the service interruption.
