Serbisyo Caravan heads to Jeddah on August 8, Al Khobar on August 15 for Pinoy workers

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in coordination with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Philippine Embassy, and Migrant Workers Offices (MWO), is set to bring the “Bagong Bayani ng Mundo: OFW Serbisyo Caravan” to Jeddah on August 8 and Al Khobar on August 15. These follow the successful stops of the caravan in Riyadh and Dubai earlier this year.

The initiative is designed to bring essential government services closer to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), particularly those who face challenges accessing documentation, legal support, and financial assistance while abroad. It also aims to recognize the vital role of OFWs as modern-day heroes by streamlining access to services under one roof.

In Jeddah, the caravan will take place on August 8 at Ladunna Hall in Al-Rabwa, located along Fajr Street in the Al Rehab District. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and may continue through the following day depending on turnout. For Al Khobar, the caravan is scheduled on August 15, with the specific venue to be announced through official Philippine Embassy and MWO channels.

The caravan will host a range of government agencies, including the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, Land Bank of the Philippines, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), among others. These agencies will offer services such as civil registration and national ID processing, legal consultations, OWWA membership renewal, contract verification, social and financial assistance, and reintegration or livelihood support.

Attendees are encouraged to bring valid identification and relevant documents to facilitate smoother transactions. No pre-registration is required, but early arrival is recommended due to the expected high number of participants, as experienced in previous caravan stops.

Leadership representatives from DMW and OWWA are expected to be present, along with officials from the embassy and consular teams. Past events have featured activities such as wellness programs, legal clinics, and livelihood orientations to empower OFWs with practical and accessible tools for long-term planning.
