An elderly woman died after being successively struck by two SUVs and a sedan in Quezon City, authorities confirmed Friday.
The tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Illinois Street and Aurora Boulevard in Barangay Silangan on the evening of May 17. The victim, identified as 61-year-old Rosemarie Orcine from Bulacan, was first hit by a black SUV. Moments later, a white SUV and then a sedan followed, each colliding with the already fallen woman.
CCTV footage released by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) captured the sequence of collisions. The drivers of both SUVs fled the scene immediately, prompting an ongoing manhunt. In contrast, the sedan driver was apprehended and is now in police custody.
“The QCPD is continuing its investigation and follow-up operations to identify the drivers of the black and white SUVs,” police said in an official statement.
Authorities said the involved drivers may be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
