Senator Raffy Tulfo’s son apologizes for illegal use of EDSA busway

Quezon City Representative Ralph Wendel Tulfo has publicly apologized after his vehicle was caught illegally using the EDSA Busway, an exclusive lane for public buses.

“I sincerely apologize to the public, especially to those affected by the recent incident involving my vehicle passing through the EDSA bus lane,” Tulfo said in a social media post.

Acknowledging his violation, the congressman confirmed he paid the fines and committed to attending the required seminar to better understand traffic regulations. He emphasized there was no attempt to use his political connections to evade penalties.

“I promise to take all necessary steps to avoid making this kind of mistake in the future,” he added.

The Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) previously reported that a convoy linked to a lawmaker was apprehended on January 23 for unauthorized use of the busway but did not disclose the lawmaker’s identity.

Senator Raffy Tulfo, the congressman’s father, revealed that he reprimanded his son over the violation. “I scolded him, and he apologized to me. I told him to apologize to everyone—and that’s it,” the senator said during an interview.
