The management of Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi has granted a cash reward of Dh50,000 to its security officers. This gesture came a day after Gulf News reported on how the security team swiftly acted to save a 23-year-old Emirati woman’s life.
F. Al Hosani suffered a cardiac arrest and was found unconscious in the hospital’s car park. Faizal Khan, Security Officer at the hospital, quickly raised a Rapid Response Alert. The swift intervention was crucial in saving Al Hosani, who was later diagnosed with a severe case of pulmonary embolism, a condition where blood clots travel into the lungs.
Following the news coverage, the hospital received numerous messages of appreciation on social media and direct calls, praising the prompt actions of the security personnel and the medical team. Recognizing their heroism, Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, personally presented the cash reward to the officers at a dedicated event.
After being found, Al Hosani was immediately taken to the resuscitation room where a specialized team performed emergency medical procedures. Dr. Wissam Al Sahli stated that after 10 minutes of resuscitation, the patient was stabilized, albeit still in a critical condition. Subsequent tests confirmed the pulmonary embolism diagnosis, and emergency medication was administered, leading to her vital signs gradually improving. After being on artificial ventilation, Al Hosani regained consciousness and was discharged five days later.
Expressing her gratitude, Al Hosani said, “I am grateful to the Almighty to be alive… I am thankful to the entire team at Burjeel Hospital.”
