P-pop sensation SB19 continues its global rise as their chart-topping single “GENTO” receives an official entry for the 66th GRAMMY Awards. Sony Music Philippines made the announcement on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, today, October 13.
The hit track aims for a spot in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. Sony Music Philippines released a “For Your Grammys Consideration” poster alongside the announcement, urging fans to share it extensively. The goal is to capture the attention of the Recording Academy’s voting members by October 20.
While it’s not an official nomination yet, the label is hopeful, especially considering the song’s impressive achievements. “GENTO” not only secured a position on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart but also accumulated over 25.5 million Spotify streams and spurred 1.8 million TikTok posts.
The “GENTO” dance challenge on TikTok went viral, with international celebrities like Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and 2NE1’s Minzy participating.
SB19, comprised of members Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh, has been making waves since their 2018 debut. Member Ken, also known as FELIP, had earlier graced the GRAMMY’s stage in 2022.
Fans eagerly await the GRAMMY nominations on November 10 and SB19’s upcoming Dubai concert on November 24.
