SB19, the renowned Filipino pop group, recently unveiled their documentary “Pagtatag” at a premiere night that offered fans an exclusive glimpse into their world tour journey. The film provides an up-close look at the band’s dynamics, highlighting their strong bond and how they overcame various hurdles both on and off the stage.
The documentary showcases the genuine experiences of the group members, from personal interactions to the pressure of performing. Justin, a member of SB19, expressed his appreciation for the film’s raw and unscripted moments. He noted, “Gusto namin yung hindi harap-harapan kinukunan kami kasi hindi kami magiging authentic pag alam namin na, alam mo yun, magiging conscious. Natutuwa kami na yung mga moments hindi namin alam may camera pala.”
A significant part of the documentary focuses on Pablo’s struggle with anxiety and panic attacks before performances, revealing the emotional weight he carries. “Everytime po nagkakaroon ako ng stressful moments, nagkakaroon po ako ng panic attack, tapos nanginginig po buong katawan ko, tapos nasusuka ako, tapos hindi po ako makapag-isip ng maayos,” Pablo shared, emphasizing the intense pressures of their career.
Despite these challenges, the film also captures moments of resilience and renewal. Pablo found motivation through the documentary, saying, “Habang pinapanood ko siya, lumalakas ulit yung loob ko. Dito kasi sa industry, when it gets repetitive, parang nawawalan ka ng soul, parang mawawalan ka ng gana and maghahanap ka palagi ng motivation.”
Ken highlighted the documentary’s role in bridging the gap between the band and their fans by showcasing their true selves. “Yung ganitong documentary talaga, ito yung way para mapakita namin na tao din kami,” he said. Josh reinforced this idea, reminding fans, “Gaya ng sabi ni Ken, tao din kami and bilang tao, it’s possible to do the impossible.”
