SB19 opens up about creative process and excitement for Dubai concert

After electrifying audiences during their previous performances in Dubai, SB19 is making their return to the UAE as part of their Simula at Wakas World Tour—this time with deeper purpose, grander concepts, and an album they call their most emotionally and creatively fulfilling to date.

In a recent roundtable interview with global media, the five-member Filipino group—Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin—opened up about the evolution of their sound, their meticulous preparations for international shows, and their excitement about performing again for their Middle East fans.

Creating an era-defining EP

For SB19, Simula at Wakas is more than just a new release—it marks the culmination of a creative journey years in the making. According to Pablo, the group’s leader and chief producer, the EP represents both an ending and a beginning.

“This is the last installment of our trilogy,” he explained. “We asked ourselves—how do we exceed what we’ve already done? What if this is the end? What if it’s a new beginning? We didn’t want to leave this chapter with any regrets.”

Pablo added that they poured everything into this EP, drawing on personal experiences and lessons learned from solo projects. “Each of us had the chance to explore our individual artistry as Pablo, Josh, Ken, Stell, and Justin. We took everything we gained from that and brought it into this project,” he said.

The result is an expansive, cinematic sound that reflects their growth—not just as musicians but as storytellers.

“When we first started, it was all experimental. But now we’ve developed more confidence in our craft,” Pablo said. “We’ve collaborated with producers from around the world and tried to create something big, something epic.”

Dubai on their minds

Dubai has always been one of SB19’s strongest international markets. The group has previously performed in front of thousands in the city, and they know just how passionate their UAE fanbase—known as A’TIN—can be.

“Dubai always shows up for us,” Justin shared. “We’re overwhelmed and thankful for the support, especially seeing our latest single ‘DAM’ charting in the region.”

Their recent track ‘DAM’ reached #7 in the UAE, #12 across the MENA region, and #17 in Saudi Arabia—a feat the group credits to their global fans, particularly those in the Middle East.

“Our music reaching different countries means we’re also bringing Filipino music to the world,” Justin said. “And that’s something we’re really proud of.”

Stell added, “This tour isn’t just about performing songs—it’s about sharing who we are. We’re proud to represent our culture and connect with kababayans and international fans alike.”

More than a concert—it’s an experience

While fans can expect hits and high-energy numbers, the group emphasized that their shows are about more than entertainment.

“We’ve crafted this experience for the fans. It’s like stepping into the world we created while making these songs,” Josh explained. “We were involved in about 90% of the setlist and production decisions. Every detail was thought through.”

Ken shared that fans in Dubai can expect standout performances, especially of their new rock-inspired tracks. “I think they’re going to enjoy everything—but ‘QUIT’ really brings a different kind of energy. It’s hype,” he said. “It’s the first rock song we did, and we can’t wait to perform it live.”

The group’s dedication to their craft goes beyond the stage. To meet the physical demands of their tour, they’ve committed to intense conditioning and training.

“We’ve been hitting the gym regularly,” Josh said with a smile. “Performing this lineup takes a lot of stamina, and we want to give our best every time.”

But it’s not just the physical side that matters. Stell emphasized the emotional readiness as well: “Performing in front of international fans is a different kind of pressure. It’s not just about the performance—it’s about connection, culture, and making every moment count.”

Eyes on the future

As SB19 looks ahead, the group remains grounded despite their rising global presence.

“One thing we always hold on to is staying humble,” Justin said. “Whatever success we’ve achieved, we remind ourselves to keep our feet on the ground because that’s how we can keep moving forward—and hopefully inspire others too.”

Asked about dream collaborations, Stell didn’t hesitate. “Bruno Mars is at the top of our list,” he shared. “His performances are on another level. Personally, I’d also love to work with Adele—imagine the emotion we could create together.”

With Simula at Wakas, SB19 closes a chapter—but also opens a new one filled with possibilities, growth, and global connection.

And for their Dubai fans, the message is clear: “Get ready,” Stell said. “We’re bringing everything we’ve got. This concert will be unforgettable.”

SB19 is set to perform in Dubai this October as part of their Simula at Wakas World Tour, with the exact date and venue to be announced soon.
