Filipino supergroup SB19 and iconic OPM rapper Gloc-9 have teamed up for a new track titled “Kalakal,” set to release on Friday, August 9.
The collaboration was announced through social media, with both SB19 and Gloc-9 sharing the news and a pre-save link for the song. The release will be available on various digital streaming platforms.
“Hindi mo ‘to kayang tanggihan 🛺 KALAKAL by SB19 and GLOC-9 August 9, 2024 | 12AM,” read the announcement, accompanied by a video of the artists working on the track.
Gloc-9, who recently performed at SB19’s “Pagtatag! Finale” concert in May, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Sa pag-likha ng obra, kailangan ng tamang timpla.”
SB19, consisting of members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, has been a prominent force in the rise of P-pop since their formation in 2019. They are known for hits like “Go Up,” “What?” and “Gento,” which gained popularity on TikTok, even among Korean idols.
Gloc-9, a legendary rapper in the Philippines, is celebrated for his impactful songs such as “Simpleng Tao,” “Sirena,” and “Upuan.”
