Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism announced on Tuesday the inclusion of six new countries to its electronic visa program. This move extends the e-visa scheme to a total of 63 nations worldwide.
The e-visa, which is valid for one year and permits multiple entries, allows travelers a 90-day stay in the Kingdom. Apart from tourism, the visa also permits its holders to perform Umrah, undertake business trips, and visit friends and family.
Travelers from the following countries can now easily apply online for the e-visa:
- Türkiye (Turkey)
- Thailand
- Mauritius
- Seychelles
- Panama
- Saint Kitts and Nevis
The application process is streamlined and accessible via a user-friendly online portal. However, the ministry has outlined certain limitations for the e-visa:
- It doesn’t permit wage-earning work.
- Umrah during the Haj season is not allowed.
- Multiple-entry visa stay durations are shorter than single-entry stays.
- Visa renewals can only be processed post-expiration.
- Overstays can result in penalties.
The extension of the e-visa scheme is a part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to boost its tourism sector and foster international relations. All prospective visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the visa’s terms and conditions to ensure a smooth visit.
