Vice President Sara Duterte has taken a step back from the political turmoil in the Philippines following her impeachment, choosing to spend time in Japan with her half-sister, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte.
Her trip comes after the House of Representatives voted to impeach her on allegations including threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and misuse of public funds. Meanwhile, criminal complaints for inciting sedition and grave threats have also been filed against her.
