In celebration of National Teachers’ Month, Vice President Sara Z. Duterte paid tribute to Filipino educators across the globe, highlighting their integral role in nation-building and in guiding the youth toward truth and critical thinking, especially in the age of digital misinformation.
“Teachers not only shape the future of a nation, they also fortify the values that hold a nation together,” Duterte stated in her official message dated September 5, 2025. She emphasized the immense dedication of teachers who continue to work through “crowded rooms, limited resources, workload, and many other problems that have eroded the education system.”
The Vice President underscored the importance of teachers as the bedrock of knowledge and defenders of truth, especially amid rampant misinformation and disinformation.
She called on Filipinos to prepare the youth to walk the path of truth and to recognize the enduring value of education, saying:
Duterte also reminded the public that teachers are the silent forces behind the dreams of aspiring professionals—doctors, lawyers, police officers, and many others.
As she concluded her message, Duterte extended her gratitude to all those serving in the education sector, not only in the Philippines but across the world.
The message ended with a call to love the country for God, for the nation, and for every Filipino family:
