Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Bong Go have taken the early lead in the 2028 national elections, according to the latest mobile-based survey by research firm Tangere.
The survey, conducted from June 20 to 22 with 2,000 respondents nationwide, showed Duterte topping the list of preferred presidential bets with 35% support—up six points from the previous month. Her strongest backing came from Davao and Northern Mindanao.
Former Vice President Leni Robredo came in second with 19%, largely supported by voters from Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and the Bicol Region.
Meanwhile, Senator Go led the vice-presidential race with 38%, marking a two-point increase. Senator Bam Aquino followed with 22%.
The results also highlighted strong tandem preferences. About 90% of Duterte’s supporters also picked Go as their preferred vice president, while a similar majority of Robredo backers named Aquino.
In a hypothetical scenario where President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. endorses Robredo, the survey found she could statistically tie or even slightly edge out Duterte by two percentage points.
Tangere identified Go as a “wild card” in the presidential race. Among those who favored him, 51% said Duterte would be their next choice, while 45% leaned toward Robredo.
The poll had a margin of error of ±2.15% and was conducted using stratified random sampling through Tangere’s mobile respondent application, with respondents proportionally representing regions across the country.
