Vice President Sara Duterte has once again entered the political spotlight, this time throwing her support behind SAGIP Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta in a newly released campaign video.
In the 53-second ad posted on Marcoleta’s official Facebook page on Wednesday, Duterte commended the congressman for standing by her during congressional probes into her office.
“Noong pinupuna at tinatakot ang Tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo, siya ang tumindig at dumepensa. Hindi alintana ang pambabatikos dahil para kay Marcoleta, ang tama ay pinaglalaban kahit mag-isa ka lang,” she said.
Duterte described Marcoleta as a principled ally, adding that he is “always on the side of what is right.”
Marcoleta, a known Duterte supporter in the House, is among the senatorial aspirants endorsed by PDP-Laban, the party led by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
This endorsement follows Duterte’s earlier appearance in a separate political ad supporting Senator Imee Marcos, who has openly criticized the Marcos administration’s handling of her brother’s case—particularly the arrest and extradition of former President Duterte to the International Criminal Court.
