South Korean tech giant Samsung unveiled its latest addition to the popular Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S24 series, complete with a host of new AI-driven features. The S24 series introduces three variants: Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24, set to hit UAE stores later this month, with pre-orders already open for UAE and Gulf consumers.
The base models, depending on storage capacity, are priced between Dh3,199 and Dh3,499, while the S24+ ranges from Dh3,899 to Dh4,399, and the Ultra edition falls between Dh5,099 and Dh6,599. The Galaxy series from Samsung, alongside Apple’s iPhone, consistently ranks among the most anticipated launches for UAE consumers and tech enthusiasts worldwide.
These new devices come equipped with intelligent text and call translations, offering innovative search options for internet browsing. Live call translation is a standout feature, providing a significant advantage to frequent travelers from the UAE.
TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, “Galaxy AI is built on our innovation heritage and deep understanding of how people use their phones. We’re excited to see how our users around the world empower their everyday lives with Galaxy AI to open up new possibilities.”
Notably, the Galaxy S24 is the first in the Galaxy S series to incorporate recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) in its design. The Galaxy S24 Ultra includes a minimum of 40% recycled steel in its speakers and a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Furthermore, the packaging box for every Galaxy S24 is crafted from 100% recycled paper material.
Key features of the Galaxy S24 include its live translation facility, offering two-way, real-time voice and text translations for phone calls within the native app. No third-party apps are needed, ensuring private conversations. In addition, the phone’s Chat Assist feature helps ensure the intended tone and meaning of messages in various apps. AI built into the Samsung Keyboard also provides real-time translations in 13 languages.
For voice recordings with multiple speakers, the Transcript Assist uses AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarize, and even translate recordings. The Galaxy S24 also introduces an intuitive, gesture-driven Circle to Search feature with Google, allowing users to easily search for anything on the screen.
Galaxy AI editing tools enable users to make simple edits, while Edit Suggestion offers AI-driven optimization recommendations for photos. Generative Edit fills in background areas using AI, and Instant Slow-mo generates additional frames for smoother slow-motion videos.
For security, Samsung Knox, Galaxy’s defense-grade security platform, provides end-to-end protection against threats and vulnerabilities.
