RUNTHUSIASTS, a UAE-based endurance sports community, marked its 8th anniversary on 3 February 2026, commemorating its founding on 3 February 2018 at exactly 5:46 PM (UAE time).
What began as a small group of runners from different running circles has since evolved into a multi-sport endurance community encompassing running, Spartan racing, HYROX, and other endurance disciplines. Initially known for its regular Wednesday runs, the group gradually expanded both in training days and sporting focus, reflecting the diverse interests of its members.
Today, RUNTHUSIASTS is composed of athletes from various teams, nationalities, and emirates across the UAE, united by a shared commitment to endurance sport, physical development, and community building. The group emphasizes inclusivity, consistency, and mutual support, welcoming athletes of different backgrounds and performance levels.
Founded by Jayson Castillo, RUNTHUSIASTS was established with the aim of creating a space where individuals could train together beyond organizational or competitive boundaries. Over the past eight years, the community has grown steadily, becoming a platform for collaboration, motivation, and long-term athletic development.
As RUNTHUSIASTS celebrates this milestone, the community continues to focus on fostering connection through sport while supporting the growth of endurance athletics within the UAE.
