Actress Ruffa Gutierrez recently expressed her preference for privacy regarding her relationship with former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista. In an ABS-CBN News report, Gutierrez revealed that they had been seeing each other since their work on the 2020 pandemic comedy series “The House Arrest of Us.” Despite confirming the relationship, she emphasized the value of keeping her personal life out of the public eye.
“At my age, turning 50 this year, I’d rather keep things quiet. I believe relationships last because they are private,” Gutierrez shared. She highlighted her intention to not hide the relationship but to maintain its privacy to strengthen it.
Her mother, Anabelle Rama, known for her outspoken nature, seems to approve of Bautista. Gutierrez reflected on her mother’s evolving stance, “She thinks I’m old enough now not to meddle too much. But she’s always gonna be my mom and she’s always gonna be outspoken.”
The actress celebrated her 50th birthday surrounded by close family and friends, including celebrities Arlene Muhlach, Karla Estrada, and Sunshine Cruz. Notably, Bautista was also in attendance, indicating the family’s acceptance of him. Gutierrez encapsulated the family sentiment, saying, “I think she likes and she appreciates the person that I am dating now.”
