The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has alerted its customers to an ongoing scam involving nol cards. The warning, issued via a post on X (formerly Twitter), specifically targets deceptive marketing campaigns that are exploiting digital service users.
The RTA highlighted that these fraudulent campaigns involve the sale of fake nol cards at very low prices, promises of topping up credit misleadingly, and the illegal collection of customer data. Customers are strongly urged to avoid engaging with such schemes.
This alert comes in the wake of reports about a scam circulating on Facebook, which falsely offers 12 months of nol services for just AED 8. The RTA emphasized the importance of vigilance among public transport users and nol cardholders, advising them to only trust and use official channels for their transactions.
Nol cards are an essential part of Dubai’s public transport system, used widely for accessing various modes of transit.
