Rowena Guanzon signals support for possible case vs content creator after Ivan Ronquillo’s death

Former Commission on Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon has expressed willingness to assist the family of Ivan Cezar Ronquillo if they decide to pursue legal action against content creator Valentine Rosales, whose posts became part of the heated online exchanges surrounding the young man before his death.

Ivan died on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in what authorities described as an apparent suicide. His passing came only days after the death of his girlfriend, 23-year-old model Gina Lima.

Police findings later showed that Gina died of cardiorespiratory distress, according to the Quezon City Police District–Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit. Despite this, Valentine was among those who publicly accused Ivan of harming his girlfriend, a claim Ivan firmly denied.

In the days before his death, Ivan identified on social media the people he said had destroyed his reputation, sharing video clips and screenshots of the accusations that had spread against him.

Valentine has since deleted the posts naming Ivan, but insisted in a statement that he was also misled.

Valentine also claimed he was fed details by mutual acquaintances, saying, “Tulad niyo ay isa rin akong biktima!

Guanzon, who said she had followed Ivan’s ordeal closely, reacted strongly to Valentine’s defense. In a Facebook post, she wrote: “Kaka-clout chase niyang valentine rosales na yan ay may nagpakamatay na tao.

Meanwhile, Valentine said this afternoon that he had sought medical attention for an “emergency psychiatrical session” related to his “mental health.”
