Rotana to launch 12 new hotels across UAE and Saudi Arabia by 2027

Rotana is gearing up for a significant regional expansion, with 12 new hotels set to open across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The move reaffirms the hospitality group’s commitment to its roots and aligns with broader national tourism visions like the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031 and Saudi Vision 2030.

The new projects reflect Rotana’s growing focus on diverse accommodation types—from long-stay residences to wellness resorts and lifestyle hotels—highlighting its responsiveness to shifting traveler expectations.

In the UAE, three new properties are set to rise. These include the Reem Island Arjaan by Rotana in Abu Dhabi, offering 280 serviced apartments for long-term guests; the upscale Bloom Arjaan by Rotana on Saadiyat Island, targeting tourists and staycationers; and the eco-conscious Mangrove Rotana in Ras Al Khaimah, which supports the emirate’s nature-driven tourism push.

Meanwhile in Saudi Arabia, Rotana has partnered with Memar Development & Investment Company to bring four new hotels to Riyadh and Jeddah—raising its total projected presence in the kingdom to 20 hotels by 2027. Additionally, developments are underway in Al Baha, a move that supports the Kingdom’s aim to bolster tourism in lesser-known destinations.

Philip Barnes, Rotana’s CEO, emphasized the emotional and strategic value of these markets: “The UAE will always be our home — it’s where Rotana started… This next chapter is about deepening those relationships.”

The rollout also ties into the enhanced Rotana Discovery loyalty programme, expected to be fully integrated with Global Hotel Alliance by 2025, giving guests access to a network of over 30 million members globally.

COO Eddy Tannous underscored Rotana’s reputation for reliability in emerging markets: “We’ve earned developer trust — not just for what we say, but for how we show up.”
