House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez joined Filipinos in marking President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s 68th birthday on Saturday, praising his leadership as a source of unity and his “Bagong Pilipinas” vision as a legacy for future generations.
In a birthday message, Romualdez said the President has guided the nation with both clarity and compassion, allowing Filipinos to feel a sense of direction and care from the administration.
“Mr. President, your leadership has inspired unity and resolve at a time when our nation faces both challenges and opportunities. Sa bawat hakbang ng Bagong Pilipinas, ramdam ng bawat Pilipino ang direksyon at kalinga na inyong itinataguyod,” Romualdez said.
He emphasized that Congress remains fully committed to supporting Malacañang, particularly in pushing reforms aimed at creating jobs, expanding opportunities, and strengthening social protection.
“We in Congress remain deeply honored to work alongside you in pushing reforms that will improve lives, create jobs, and expand opportunities for all,” Romualdez said, adding that the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, digital transformation, and social programs are building blocks of a fairer and stronger Philippines.
Highlighting Marcos’ brand of governance, Romualdez noted that it reflects service and collective progress rather than self-interest.
“Your dedication to service serves as a constant reminder that leadership is not about personal gain, but about collective progress. Sa inyong paggabay, patuloy nating naipapakita na ang pamahalaan ay tunay na para sa tao,” he said.
The Speaker also extended prayers for the President’s good health and wisdom, vowing that the House of Representatives will continue to be his reliable partner in enacting laws that address urgent national needs and safeguard the nation’s future.
“Maligayang kaarawan, Mr. President! May this day remind you of the immense gratitude of the nation you serve and the continuing trust of the Filipino people,” Romualdez said.
