House Speaker Martin Romualdez has expressed strong support for the Marcos administration’s newly launched Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub, calling it a “major breakthrough” in improving the delivery of public services to Filipinos.
In a statement on Saturday, July 19, the Leyte 1st District Representative emphasized the importance of making government transactions more accessible and efficient for all Filipinos, especially those who have long struggled with slow and burdensome processes.
“Ito ang gobyernong tunay na nakikinig sa taong bayan,” Romualdez said, noting how the digital initiative marks a significant shift in how citizens interact with the government.
He pointed out that for years, many Filipinos endured long queues just to get basic documents such as birth certificates and driver’s licenses. But now, under the Marcos administration, Romualdez said, services are moving “mula sa mahabang pila hanggang sa isang pindot na lang sa smartphone.”
The Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub, formally launched by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center, offers a centralized location for frontline services—from legal consultations and medical assistance to job-matching, permits, and clearances.
Romualdez, who also heads the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), stressed that the hub and its digital counterpart, the upgraded eGovPH Super App, are effective tools for cutting red tape and improving public convenience.
“This is how we bring our government closer to the people—not with long lines, hours of waiting, and red tape, but with real solutions that they see, feel, and benefit from,” he said.
Since its soft launch on June 2, the program has been rolled out in collaboration with several government agencies. Romualdez also pledged legislative support to secure funding for the expansion of both the physical hubs and the Super App, ensuring long-term success and accessibility.
“Public servants are duty-bound to think of solutions that will ease and not add to Filipinos’ daily burdens,” Romualdez added. “Our people deserve convenience, comfort, dignity, and speed when dealing with the government that is mandated to serve them.”
