Kitty Duterte, daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, has shared touching messages from her father, who is currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) facility in The Hague, Netherlands.
Screenshots posted by Kitty revealed Duterte’s personal messages to his children and granddaughters, expressing his love and pride despite his current situation.
“To Veronica and Mira: I love you. You are growing up beautifully and you are my eternal joy,” Duterte wrote, referring to his young daughter and great-granddaughter. His words carried a soft emotional weight, showcasing a grandfather’s affection and longing.
He also praised his older children — Vice President Sara Duterte, Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte, and Davao City Acting Mayor Baste Duterte — for their public service. “I love you all, I am so proud of what you are doing and how you hold high the name of our family,” he said.
In a more casual tone, Duterte gave direct advice and personal remarks to each one:
To Pulong (Paolo): “Do your job and do what is right.”
To Inday Sara: “Keep up your good work. God will remember it.”
To Baste: “Add more girls to add your headache. More success, Mayor!”
