Former Vice President Leni Robredo emphasized that the annual Peñafrancia Festival in Naga City is a “politically neutral” event where anyone, regardless of political affiliation, is welcome.
Speaking to reporters in Filipino on Saturday, Robredo stated, “During the Peñafrancia Festival here in our city, there are no political colors.” She added that everyone who visits Our Lady of Peñafrancia is welcome in Naga.
These remarks came after her meeting with Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday, highlighting the festival’s inclusive nature since her late husband, Jesse Robredo, became mayor in 1988.
