Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air, is set to begin operations in mid-2025 and has announced a significant recruitment drive in Dubai.
The drive aims to fill various positions including cabin crew, pilots, engineers, and corporate roles.
According to Peter Bellew, Riyadh Air’s Chief Operating Officer, the airline is planning to hire 300 cabin crew by the end of 2024, with recruitment days scheduled in Dubai, Paris, and Saudi Arabia later this year.
Riyadh Air, which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, Public Investment Fund (PIF), recently conducted a recruitment event in London. The airline expects to generate 200,000 jobs both directly and indirectly by 2030. Since its launch announcement in March 2023, it has received over 900,000 applications, with women constituting 52% of the applicants.
The airline’s vision aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, focusing on economic diversification and job creation. Bellew emphasized the importance of building a diverse and world-class team to oversee global operations. He encouraged applicants from around the world to join the new airline, which plans to serve over 100 destinations by 2030.
Additionally, Riyadh Air will participate in the Dubai Airshow from November 13 to 17. Bloomberg reports that the airline is expected to place an order for 100 Boeing 737 Max aircrafts as it prepares to build its fleet. The airshow will also see Riyadh Air unveiling its second livery and announcing a partnership with luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Group, highlighting a commitment to sustainable transportation.
