At just 18 years old, Daniella Mazen M. Moustafa is already carving out a unique path for herself in the world of beauty, fashion, and philanthropy. A multifaceted individual, Daniella balances her roles as a model, beauty queen, and student with remarkable poise and dedication. Currently, she is a candidate for Miss Manila 2024, representing Tayuman, and she embraces this journey with a mantra that speaks volumes about her character: “To have discipline is to achieve success.”
Daniella’s life is a blend of professional commitment and personal passion.
“I am a model, a beauty queen, and also a student,” she shares with The Global Filipino Magazine.
Her journey in the beauty and modeling industry began with participation in various pageants, the most recent being the Sinulog Festival Queen competition in Cebu last January. Although she didn’t take home the crown, she emphasizes the invaluable experience and lessons she gained, which she believes have crowned her in different ways.
“The experience and the lessons I’ve learned made me a queen,” she reflects.
Beyond the glitz and glamour of pageantry, Daniella finds joy and fulfillment in extracurricular activities that benefit others. An adventurer at heart, she loves mountain hiking and activities involving heights, which she finds exhilarating and grounding. Additionally, she actively participates in outreach programs, finding deep satisfaction in helping others and making a positive impact in her community.
Daniella’s current role as a beauty queen is something she cherishes deeply. She loves the unpredictability and the people she meets along the way.
“What I love about my career is that I get to meet unexpected people who then, as time passes by, become a huge part of my life,” she explains.
This aspect of her career fuels her passion and drives her to continue pursuing her goals with enthusiasm and dedication.
However, the journey is not without its challenges. Daniella candidly discusses the criticism beauty queens often face on social media, which can significantly impact their mental health.
“Sometimes, beauty queens get criticism on social media that affects their overall health. It is an obstacle nobody deserves to go through,” she admits.
Such negative comments can be particularly harsh, and Daniella herself has faced hurtful remarks about her skin tone.
“Comments like ‘she’s just pretty because she has pale skin’ really affect me,” she reveals.
Over time, she has learned to rise above these criticisms, developing a stronger sense of self-love and resilience.
“I learned to love and appreciate my physical appearance and not listen to comments such as that,” she says, demonstrating a maturity beyond her years.
Looking ahead, Daniella’s aspirations are as ambitious as they are inspiring. She envisions expanding her platform to reach and influence a broader audience, aiming to inspire and motivate others.
“I plan on expanding my platform more so I can reach a wider range of people to inspire and influence people,” she states with determination.
Daniella’s journey is not just about personal success but also about uplifting others. She offers heartfelt advice to her fellow kababayans, urging them to treat others with kindness and respect.
“Treat people the way you want to be treated,” she advises, a simple yet profound principle that she embodies in her daily life.
