Viva Artists Agency (VAA) officially announced on Friday, December 6, 2024, that it will now manage the budding showbiz career of 19-year-old Alfy Yan, nephew of the late matinee idol Rico Yan.
Born Alfonso Tueres, Alfy is the son of Geraldine Yan, Rico’s sister. Despite never meeting his uncle, who passed away on March 29, 2002, Alfy has captured attention for his striking resemblance to the iconic actor.
With his heartthrob potential and charismatic presence, Alfy has long been encouraged to follow in Rico’s footsteps. His recent signing with Viva makes him one of the latest additions to their roster of young stars, joining the likes of Andres Muhlach.
Interestingly, actress Claudine Barretto, Rico’s former girlfriend, played a pivotal role in introducing Alfy to Viva. Her close relationship with the Yan family remains strong, and she continues to hold Rico’s memory dear.
