Celebrity couple Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo are thrilled to announce they are expecting a baby boy. The joyful revelation was shared by actress Liza Diño-Seguerra on Instagram after a surprise event for the couple.
“It’s a boy for our baby sister Sophia Atayde,” Diño-Seguerra’s caption read, referring to Ria by her nickname. She added a playful note about the anticipated due date coinciding with her husband Ice Seguerra’s birthday, saying, “Patay kabirth month ni Ice ang magiging baby mo. Good luck! Hahaha. Lab yu sis!”
The intimate celebration was attended by notable figures such as ABS-CBN executives Carlo Katigbak and Cory Vidanes, Ria’s brother Arjo Atayde, Maine Mendoza, and Dominic Ochoa.
Ria had previously confirmed her pregnancy last June on Father’s Day with an Instagram post. She shared a beach photo showcasing her baby bump and wrote a heartfelt message to Zanjoe: “To the dad you already are and the dad I know you’ll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo. So excited for this new chapter with you.”
The couple, who got married in a civil ceremony in March this year, announced their engagement on February 20 after confirming their relationship in January 2023. They had been the subject of dating rumors since August 2022 after being spotted on several trips together.
