The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow alerts across most parts of the UAE today due to dense fog. Residents are warned of reduced visibility until 9 am on Wednesday, which may worsen in coastal and inland areas.
Abu Dhabi Police have advised motorists to drive cautiously during the foggy conditions, urging them to adhere to variable speed limits displayed on electronic boards. In response to the fog, authorities have temporarily reduced speed limits to 80 km/h on several roads in the capital, including sections of the Abu Dhabi – Al Ain road, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Intl. road, Maktoum Bin Rashid road, and Mohammed Bin Rashid road.
Today’s weather forecast from the NCM predicts fair and partly cloudy skies, with potential convective clouds forming in the east by afternoon. The night and Thursday morning are expected to be humid, with a possibility of fog or mist, particularly in some western coastal and inland areas. Winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally becoming fresh. The sea conditions are expected to be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Temperatures will range from a low of 25°C in the mountains to a high of 49°C in inland areas, with humidity potentially reaching up to 90% in parts of the UAE.
