A brand-new wave of holiday theatre is arriving in Dubai as Rapunzel and Her Holiday Wish, a musical pantomime by Lythgoe Family Productions, prepares to light up the stage at the newly opened New Covent Garden Theatre in Mall of the Emirates. The show runs from 5 to 24 December, offering families a seasonal spectacle packed with music, comedy, and timeless fairy-tale charm.
Staged in partnership with New Covent Garden and Live Nation Middle East, the production marks the Middle East debut of the Lythgoe family’s celebrated pantomime tradition, which has captivated audiences across the United States for a decade. Tickets are now available on livenation.me.
The cast is led by Lucy Walsham as Rapunzel, Samuel Levene as Prince Flynn, and Ollie Chapman as Simple Simon. Together, they bring a lively retelling of the classic tale, blending big musical numbers, vibrant staging, and moments of heartfelt storytelling.
Written by Kris Lythgoe, the show gives the familiar story a contemporary, musical spin—complete with pop favorites from artists such as Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder. Audiences follow Rapunzel as she breaks free from her tower, evades the scheming Madame Gothel, and sets out for the Kingdom of Dubai’s Festival of Lights.
