If you’re still undecided about your New Year’s Eve plans, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) presents an enticing option. The emirate, known for breaking Guinness World Records for its spectacular fireworks displays over the past five years, is gearing up to awe residents and visitors with an unprecedented show this year.
The upcoming event promises new choreography elements and techniques, marking a first in the emirate’s history of fireworks displays. Spanning a 4.5km stretch along the waterfront between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village, the display aims not just to entertain but also to set new records.
This year, spectators have two event options for viewing the fireworks. A free public event will include DJ entertainment, activities for kids, a variety of food trucks, and designated areas for bachelors and families. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the ticketed Soundfest event will feature performances by international artists, a dedicated kids’ area, and diverse culinary offerings.
In the lead-up to the New Year’s Eve spectacle, a series of celebratory events will take place, including tree-lighting ceremonies, Christmas festivities, and gala dinners across RAK’s hotels. Visitors staying on Al Marjan Island during the event will enjoy prime viewing locations for the fireworks.
The New Year’s Eve Organising Committee, led by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, includes teams from Marjan, the RAK Police, the RAK Government Media Office, the RAK Chamber of Commerce, Public Works, the RAK Municipality, Al Hamra, among others, ensuring a well-coordinated and memorable celebration.
Last year, RAK hosted a 12-minute musical firework display featuring pyro drones, nano lights, and synchronized electronic beats.
