In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, QIWI Group organized the QAT Pink Tour for its QAT faculty, visiting prominent UAE attractions such as Riverland Abu Dhabi, the Museum of the Future, Global Village, Dubai Frame, and Dubai Miracle Garden. This annual initiative, part of QIWI Robotics and Technologies Group’s ongoing dedication to wellness, focused on the critical role of early breast cancer detection and preventive health practices.
Led by Engr. Lilac Schonberg, co-founder of QIWI Group, the QAT Pink Tour campaign advocates for regular breast self-exams, clinical exams, and mammograms as proactive steps to catch breast cancer early. Statistics from the American Cancer Society highlight that detecting breast cancer at an early, localized stage offers a five-year survival rate of 99%, showcasing the life-saving importance of awareness and screenings.
A breast cancer survivor herself, Engr. Lilac Schonberg shared her personal experiences and insights with faculty members, encouraging them to prioritize health and support one another. “The QAT Pink Tour is about fostering a community of wellness and solidarity. Through awareness and regular screenings, we’re taking powerful steps together in the fight against breast cancer,” she stated.
Beyond her advocacy for breast cancer awareness, Engr. Schonberg is also an influential figure in STEM education through QIWI Robotics and Technologies Group. Founded with her husband Mikael, QIWI has been a pioneering force in robotics and AI education, particularly for children with autism.
